  • Founder

Omar Kazubwenge, a native of Burundi. Omar's family has a rich history of coffee cultivation in their homeland, and their passion for the industry inspired Omar to pursue his own coffee business.

Omar's journey began by learning everything he could about coffee, from growing and harvesting to roasting and brewing.

He spent years studying the art of coffee-making, traveling to coffee farms around the world, and experimenting with different roasting techniques.

With his extensive knowledge and experience, Omar set out to create a coffee company that reflected the traditions and values of his family's heritage.

Our Process

Most of the coffee we sell is “washed,” or wet-processed. For this process, the freshly-harvested coffee cherries are de-pulped, which removes the skin and most of the fruit around the bean. The coffee then is placed in tanks where it is allowed to naturally ferment for 18-24 hours. This fermentation begins to break down the mucilage, which is a sugary, slimy substance that surrounds the bean.
